Choosing an Australian EOR

Best EOR
provider in Australia: what to ask

A capable provider for Australian hires answers three things without hesitation: how Payday Super contributions reach funds inside the 7 business day limit, which modern award and classification cover the role, and whether labour hire licensing in Queensland, Victoria, South Australia or the ACT touches your arrangement. This guide lists the questions to ask, compares published fees and sets out what EOR Australia does as employer of record for your Australian hire.

Who picks up your query

One named manager for every query.

When a payslip is questioned or a Payday Super deadline is close, you speak to Ben, your account director, who already knows your team, the award that applies and your pay cycle. He brings in Lachlan on payroll when figures need checking.

Buyer questions

Before you choose a provider

Who employs my hire in Australia?+
Your hire signs an employment contract with us as the legal employer (employer of record), and we withhold PAYG, pay super and report to the ATO. You direct the day-to-day work, and EOR Australia manages the relationship and sends you a single invoice.
How does payroll run for Australian staff?+
We run payroll on an agreed cycle, usually monthly. Each pay run withholds PAYG under ATO Schedule 1, sends super to the employee’s fund, issues a payslip and lodges an STP Phase 2 report on or before payday. You approve variable pay such as bonuses and commissions before the cut-off.
Is super extra?+
Yes. The super guarantee is 12% of qualifying earnings in 2026-27 and is paid on top of salary, so an AUD 110,000 salary adds AUD 13,200 in super. Under Payday Super, in place since 1 July 2026, the money has to arrive in the employee’s super account inside 7 business days of wages going out.
What if an employee lodges an unfair dismissal claim?+
Claims are heard by the Fair Work Commission. Employees earning under the high income threshold of AUD 190,100, or covered by an award or enterprise agreement, can generally apply, and compensation is capped at AUD 95,050 from 1 July 2026. We work with you on notice, records and process before any exit so the file is complete.
Who can see my employee’s data?+
Tax file numbers, bank details and super fund choices are held in access-controlled systems and shared only with the payroll team and the ATO or fund that needs them. We can answer your security questionnaire and share our data-handling terms before you sign.
What does the fee cover?+
from USD 560 per employee per month (about AUD 797 on 24 Sep 2026) covers employment as employer of record, payroll, super, STP and HR support. On-costs are itemised apart; a set-up fee is usually charged once.
Can we change a contract after start?+
Yes, with the employee’s written agreement. A pay rise, new hours or a move to another state is recorded as a contract variation. Relocating to another state can alter the payroll tax, insurance scheme and long service leave that apply, so we review those first. Fixed-term contracts are capped at two years including renewals, unless an exception applies.
Which team answers our questions?+
A named account director and a payroll lead who work on Australian payroll every day answer your questions by email and on scheduled calls. Your employee has a direct HR contact for leave, payslips and super, and we book calls to suit Australian time zones.
